KARACHI — Capital Smart Motors, the importer of affordable JMEV Elight electric sedan, has introduced another addition to Pakistan’s rapidly growing EV market, the JMEV EV3, a compact electric hatchback unveiled at the Pakistan Auto Show (PAPS) held in Karachi. Positioned as an entry-level urban commuter, the EV3 is designed for buyers who need an affordable, fully electric option for everyday city driving. The company has not announced the price nor when the booking will start, but the model’s unveiling attracted a big crowd of visitors at PAPS, exploring Pakistan’s growing EV ecosystem.

CSM officials also confirmed that a higher-spec upper variant of the EV3 will also hit the streets in January, further expanding the product lineup from the company in the months to come.

The EV3 comes with compact dimensions – 3720 mm in length, 1640 mm in width, and 1535 mm in height on a wheelbase of 2390 mm — making it suitable for congested urban environments. International specifications shared at the event revealed a WLTP driving range of 271 km, powered by a 30 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery and a motor generating 67 horsepower and 125 Nm of torque. The hatchback allows both AC and DC charging, thus allowing flexibility for the user.

Inside, the EV3 comes with modern essentials: a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, digital climate control, mobile app connectivity, and LED headlights and taillights. It rides on 15-inch alloy wheels and exudes a sporty, urban look. Safety features include two airbags, vehicle stability assistance, hill-start assist, ISOFIX child-seat anchors, and a tyre pressure monitoring system, making it a well-rounded contender in the entry-level EV segment.
