Sindh Government Decides to Launch Double-Decker and New EV Buses in Karachi Next Week
KARACHI- The Sindh government has decided to launch double-decker and EV buses in Karachi starting next week, while also announcing the initiation of new routes for the People’s Bus Service in other districts of Sindh. A meeting of the Transport Department was held, chaired by Sindh’s Senior Minister, Sharjeel Inam Memon.
During the meeting, Sharjeel Inam Memon was briefed on the progress of the development work for the Yellow Line BRT and Red Line BRT. He was also briefed on the launch of an EV taxi service and the second phase of the Pink Scooties scheme in Karachi.
Sharjeel Inam Memon said he expects the double-decker and new EV buses to arrive in Karachi by next week.

He further said the Sindh government intends to start the EV taxi service before the end of December and will try to procure another 500 buses during the ongoing fiscal year. People’s Bus Service will also start new routes in other districts of the province very soon, Sharjeel Memon said.
