Pakistan and Bangladesh are exploring the resumption of direct flights between the two countries to strengthen people-to-people connectivity and expand bilateral cooperation.
The development came during a meeting between H.E. Mr. Anisuzzaman Chowdhury, Special Assistant (State Minister, Ministry of Finance) to the Honorable Chief Adviser of the Government of Bangladesh, and Mr. Bilal Azhar Kayani, Minister of State for Finance and Railways of Pakistan, held at the Ministry of Finance in Islamabad.

During the meeting, both sides held productive discussions on enhancing economic and trade relations, exploring new areas of energy cooperation, and improving transport linkages. The ministers underlined the importance of reviving direct air connectivity to facilitate business, tourism, and cultural exchanges between the two nations.
The discussions reaffirmed the mutual commitment of Pakistan and Bangladesh to deepening economic and diplomatic engagement for the shared prosperity of their peoples.
The Bangladeshi delegation included H.E. Md. Iqbal Hussain Khan, High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Pakistan; Md. Tayub Ali, Counsellor (Press); and Ms. Israt Jahan, Counsellor (Political) & Head of Chancery. Representing Pakistan was Dr. Hasan Muhammad Mohsin, Economic Advisor, Ministry of Finance.
