Pakistan Introduces New Digital System to Monitor Passport Applications and Printing
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan passport digital system has been introduced to enable real-time passport application tracking Pakistan-wide under DG Passports Mustafa Jamal Qazi.
According to an official statement issued by the department, a dedicated 24/7 monitoring room has been established at the headquarters on the directives of Mustafa Jamal Qazi, Director General of Passports. The facility is equipped with a digitally integrated dashboard that allows continuous monitoring and evaluation of daily operations.
In the new system, the process of applying for or the delivery of the passport can in fact be tracked in real-time, and all the steps from the moment of application to the final point of delivery can be tracked. This was not possible in the previous system.

The statement further said that the modern monitoring mechanism will also allow automatic identification of overcrowding at passport offices. In addition, staff performance, passport printing workflows, and operational efficiency will be closely supervised through the system.
A network management module has also been introduced, enabling officials to monitor backlogs, machine functionality, and overall system health, ensuring quicker responses to technical or operational issues.
Speaking on the initiative, DG Passports Mustafa Jamal Qazi said the introduction of advanced monitoring tools would further enhance the department’s performance. He noted that not only will staff efficiency and office workloads be tracked, but citizen footfall at passport offices nationwide will also be monitored in real time. He added that a rapid-response mechanism has been put in place to address identified issues immediately.
The move is part of broader efforts by the Directorate General of Immigration & Passports to modernize public service delivery and improve the overall experience for passport applicants.
