Pakistan Turkey Friendship Strengthened with New Naval Ships

ISLAMABAD: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has reaffirmed Pakistan as a “true and steadfast ally,” emphasizing that the Pakistan Turkey friendship will endure forever. Speaking at a ceremony marking the handover of naval platforms, Erdogan highlighted the growing defense and strategic cooperation between the two nations.

Modern Naval Vessels Strengthen Pakistan Navy

 

President Erdogan noted that following successful trials, the PNS Khyber has been officially handed over to the Pakistan Navy. He recalled the agreement to build four MILGEM-class warships to support Pakistan’s naval requirements.

The first vessel, PNS Babur, was delivered on May 24, 2024. The third ship, PNS Badr, is scheduled for delivery by June 2026, while the fourth, PNS Tariq, will be handed over in the first quarter of 2027. These state-of-the-art warships are expected to significantly enhance the operational capabilities of the Pakistan Navy.

President Erdogan reiterated that the Pakistan Turkey friendship is eternal and will continue to grow stronger with time. He expressed confidence that the bilateral cooperation in defense and technology will further solidify the bond between the two countries.

The ceremony marks another milestone in Pakistan-Turkey defense collaboration, showcasing shared strategic goals and long-term commitment to mutual progress.
