Govt Hikes Diesel Price for Next Fortnight, Petrol Remains Unchanged

Share This Article:

ISLAMABAD: Petroleum price in Pakistan has once again been revised as the government increased the rate of high-speed diesel for the next fortnight while keeping petrol unchanged. The revision, based on recommendations from OGRA and relevant ministries, will take effect from November 15, 2025.

In its new notification, the Finance Division made it clear that the price of petrol (MS) will remain Rs 265.45 per liter, whereas the government has enhanced the price of high-speed diesel by Rs 6 per liter, raising the new rate to Rs 284.44 from the previous Rs 278.44. Consequently, the revised petroleum prices will become applicable for the second fortnight of November, starting from 15th November 2025.

In the previous fortnightly price review, petrol (MS) had been raised by Rs 2.43 per liter despite a sharp fall in global oil prices. The revision had taken the retail price from Rs 263.02 a liter to Rs 265.45.

Diesel, too, had turned dearer two weeks ago by Rs 3.02 per litre in the last revision with price then going up to Rs 278.44. With the latest increase, diesel crossed Rs 284 per litre, which would further add to the burden of transport and agriculture, which are major sectors using diesel.

The government says it will continue to adjust the petroleum prices fortnightly in line with international market trends, exchange rate fluctuations and tax adjustments according to the pricing mechanism determined by OGRA.
