KARACHI, November 12, 2025 — The Sindh Home Department has issued an immediate high-level security alert for Karachi, citing credible intelligence reports of potential threats across key public areas from November 12 to November 30, 2025.

According to an official notification (Ref No. HD/Sec/Alert-11/2025), the alert will remain in effect from 12:01 a.m. on November 12 until 11:59 p.m. on November 30, during which law enforcement and private security forces have been directed to maintain maximum vigilance across the city.

Authorities have identified several high-risk zones, including major shopping malls such as Dolmen Mall Clifton, Lucky One Mall, Millennium Mall, and Atrium Mall, as well as crowded commercial areas like Saddar, Tariq Road, North Nazimabad, and Gulistan-e-Jauhar.

Enhanced checks will be conducted at transportation hubs including Jinnah International Airport, Cantt Station, and City Railway Station, while all schools, colleges, and universities — both public and private — have been instructed to remain on high alert, even during weekends and holidays. Educational institutions have been told to operate only one entry/exit gate and ensure armed guards are present at all times.

The directive further requires shopping mall and market managements to enforce 100% metal detector screenings, vehicle underside inspections, and 24/7 CCTV monitoring linked to nearby police stations.

Residents are advised to avoid unnecessary visits to crowded areas, report suspicious activity or unattended items to Police (15) or Rangers WhatsApp helpline (1101), and fully cooperate during security checks.

The notification warns that failure to comply with the prescribed security measures may result in legal action under the Sindh Security of Vulnerable Establishments Act 2024 and the Anti-Terrorism Act 1997.

“Stay alert. Stay safe. Karachi is ours — let’s protect it together,” the advisory concludes, signed by Syed Kaleem Imam, Additional Chief Secretary (Home), Government of Sindh.
