Sony has started rolling out the Android 16 update to the Xperia 10 VII, following earlier updates for the Xperia 1 VII, Xperia 1 VI, and Xperia 10 VI. The Xperia 10 VII, which launched in September, is now joining the list of updated models.
Update Details and Availability
The over-the-air update arrives as build number 72.1.A.2.65 and requires a download of approximately 1GB. Users are advised to download the update using a stable network connection.
Initial reports confirm the update is now live in Europe and Japan, with additional regions expected to follow soon.

Key Features and Improvements
The update brings several new features and improvements. One of the highlights is the Modes function, which helps reduce distractions by blocking notifications during activities such as driving, working, or sleeping.
Sony has also added a Recommended option under display settings to assist with screen quality adjustments. There are new options to modify white balance, toggle Side Sense on or off more easily, and access lock screen settings directly from the home screen.
Additionally, users can now check their battery status, and a new Cast shortcut has been added to the Quick settings panel for screen mirroring.
Owners of the Xperia 10 VII can manually check for the update by navigating to Settings > About Phone > Software Update.
