Pakistan Marks Historical Achievement with MNA Syeda Amna Batool Being Selected into the FIFA Committee

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan takes a historic leap in the field of sports diplomacy as Member of National Assembly Syeda Amna Batool has joined a prominent committee at the top governing body of international football, FIFA as a representative of Pakistan.

Syeda Amna Batool has been identified as a participant in FIFA’s Institutional Reforms Committee, which is a prestigious body tasked with influencing the governance, transparency, and structural reforms of international football. This directly places the Pakistan sports fraternity under the international decision-making structure of FIFA for the very first time at such a high level.

According to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, this was a tremendous diplomatic and sports achievement for the country, indicating a high level of confidence placed in Pakistan’s increasing participation in international sports organizations.

“This is in line with the recent commitment made by the government to enhance the promotion of football and its representation in the international sports bodies,” said the ministry. “The government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, has made its clear intentions to revive the football regime in the country and rebuild its position in the international football community,” added the ministry.

The officials also added that the addition of Syeda Amna Batool to the list of members of the committee is believed to bring about responsible and constructive participation by the nation of Pakistan in the international football community.

News of his appointment has been well-received with a lot of enthusiasm, as this gives a positive signal for sports diplomacy in Pakistan, with a glimmer of hope that international engagement could lead to development in a long-term manner for their football structure.
