Zardari PML-N Alliance Remains Firm

President Asif Ali Zardari has clearly stated that his party intends to continue working alongside the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz. Speaking during an interaction with the media in Vehari, he emphasized that political cooperation remains essential for stability and governance in Pakistan.

Zardari said his party supported Maryam Nawaz and Shehbaz Sharif through votes and continues to stand by the coalition. He described the alliance as a conscious political choice rather than a temporary arrangement.

Political Flexibility Defines Governance

While addressing reporters, Zardari explained that politics demands flexibility and shared responsibility. He stressed that successful governance requires maturity, patience, and cooperation among political forces. According to him, rigid politics weakens democratic institutions, while collaboration strengthens them.

The president highlighted that the alliance was formed to move the country forward and not for short-term political gains. He acknowledged that Punjab remains under PML-N leadership, while his party governs Sindh and Balochistan. Despite this division, he said, the federal alliance functions on mutual respect.

Support for Shehbaz Sharif’s Stabilization Efforts

Zardari praised Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for attempting to stabilize the country during challenging economic and political conditions. He pointed out that strong institutions, especially parliament, play a critical role in democratic recovery.

He recalled discussions from policy circles that questioned the importance of strengthening parliament. Zardari firmly rejected that view and stated that a strong parliament ensures accountability, stability, and public trust in governance.

Personal Reflections on Imprisonment

During the conversation, Zardari also shared personal reflections about his time in prison. He stated that imprisonment demands resilience and dignity. He recalled suffering a heart attack shortly after his release and spoke emotionally about missing his children during his incarceration.

He mentioned that when he reunited with his children, they had grown significantly. He noted that Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had become taller than him by then. These remarks highlighted the personal sacrifices involved in political life.

Criticism of Past Governance

Zardari criticized the previous federal administration by stating that the country did not experience genuine civilian governance for four years. He claimed that Imran Khan did not hold actual authority during that period. Instead, he alleged that Faiz Hameed exercised control over state affairs.

According to Zardari, that period resulted in political stagnation and economic paralysis. He said the leadership at that time failed to understand public relief and governance priorities.

Concerns Over Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

The president also raised concerns about the political situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He said the province has remained under the same political leadership for years without visible development. He criticized the culture of protests and road blockades, stating that such actions hurt ordinary citizens.

Zardari said violence and unrest continue to disrupt daily life in the province. He urged political forces there to focus on governance rather than confrontation.

Political Cooperation as a Shield Against Extremism

Zardari concluded by stressing that political cooperation helps curb extremist tendencies. He said dialogue and shared responsibility reduce polarization and protect democratic values. He also stated that he understands the concerns of people across all provinces, particularly Balochistan.

The Zardari PML-N Alliance remains a key pillar of the current political setup. His remarks clearly signal continuity rather than conflict. By emphasizing unity, flexibility, and democratic maturity, Zardari projected a message of stability at a time when Pakistan continues to face complex challenges.

The repeated emphasis on the Zardari PML-N Alliance shows that the coalition intends to stay intact and guide the country through economic recovery and institutional rebuilding.
